The organizational framework for this initiative is below. We welcome stakeholders from all areas and levels of the maternity care system to join in this initiative. There are several key partners working together in this initiative. Childbirth Connection has been consultant and co-developer of the BirthTOOLS.org tool kit. In addition, multiple maternity care professional organizations are represented including the three organizations who developed the Consensus Statement on Normal Physiology Childbirth, Midwives Alliance of North America, National Association of Certified Professional Midwives who were then joined by the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, Lamaze International and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Additional stakeholders have endorsed the Consumer Statement on Normal Birth that is a companion to the Consensus Statement.
